Legislative Affairs - Allied Golf Council
Over the past several months the Georgia Department of Natural Resources has been developing a Water Conservation Implementation Plan for the state of Georgia. This plan focuses on several industries throughout the state and provides guidelines on how these industries can conserve and manage water for the future. Chapter 4 of this plan is devoted to the golf industry and your Georgia Golf Course Superintendents Association along with the University of Georgia have been involved in providing input as the plan has been developed.
The Georgia DNR has recently sent the plan out to be reviewed by the public for any comments. The GGCSA has reviewed this plan and is formulating a series of questions and suggestions that will be presented to the DNR in the near future. We are providing you a copy of the plan with this e-mail and if you have any comments that you would like to make, please forward them onto Tenia and the staff at GGCSA Headquarters. This plan is open for all public comment, and if you feel more comfortable commenting directly to the DNR, the comment website address is provided in the document. Thank you for your attention to this very important matter and we look forward to hearing from you if you have any questions or concerns.
Please visit www.georgiawcip.org and follow the directions set forth by DNR for public comment. Please review the entire document, but please pay close attention to Chapter 4 (pages 61-73) "Conserving Water used on Golf Courses".
